Interesting video. It was obvious to me the Jetta in the burn out was clutch popped and the break was on, whereas the Prius just revved and punched.. So, the burnout didn’t impress me much.
The one thing that I wonder though, is with deisel fuel costing more than unleaded fuel, the MPG might be good but the DPG (dollars per gallon) will not be so good.
While I do like a car that has some getup, as a person with hardly any left over income, the car that nets me the most DPG would be where I’d put my investment..
The ride, handling, and fit & finish of the German Jetta is truly a class above all the other high mileage cars in a similar price range. It would give me a miser of a car that is still enjoyable to drive AND my wife wouldn’t complain about how ugly it is.

That’s an interesting point Ben. Perhaps I’m past the age of worrying about any of that..
